Spring Farming in the Valley Saturday, May 1, 2010
Heritage Farms will present evergreen planting and daylily garden preparation demonstrations followed by our Gardening on a Shoestring program.
Learn how to garden by recycling every day items that most people will have around their homes. Each participant will receive either an evergreen seedling or a daylily to take home and plant.
Time: 9am 11am
Fee: $8 per person, or $12 for a full-day combination ticket that includes The Spicy Lamb Farm event.
The Spicy Lamb Farm event: Visit a Cuyahoga Valley Countryside Conservancy farm to see sheep shearing, blessing of the sheep with bagpipe accompaniment and a border collie demonstration.
Time: 1:30pm 3pm
Fee: $8 per person, or $12 for a full-day combination ticket that includes the Heritage Farms event.
Fairy Fun Saturday, May 22, 2010

The town of Peninsula will be celebrating Fairy Day and the Heritage Farms barn will be overrun with fairies! We're not sure how many will be arriving and will need help finding and counting them all.
The creek that runs by our gazebo is the perfect place for fairy houses. Build a faily house using natural materials gathered from all over the farm. It promises to be a magical day at the farm!

Preparing and Planting a Daylily Garden June 5

Join us as we prepare a new daylily bed for some exciting new varieties. Learn about soil preparation, raised bed planting, variety selection, clump splitting and much more. This is a 'hands on' program so don't forget your gardening gloves and hat. Refreshments will be provided.

Peak Bloom Morning Tea and Tour July 3

Early morning is the perfect time to enjoy the reds, purples, whites, pinks and yellows of newly opened daylilies at Heritage Farms.
Our morning tour will highlight the 100 new varieties of daylilies being introduced for 2010. Stroll the gardens while you enjoy a cup of tea or a mug of coffee and a freshly baked muffin or pastry. Join us on the Gazebo for a Q&A session and a short program on site and color selection.

Peninsula Python Day July 17
Heritage Farms celebrates Peninsula's local legend with activities all over the farm. Pillocase pythons, trivia trail and scavenger hunt and hidden "slitherers" are just a few of the Python Day activities. Children can visit the Python painting station to choose and decorate their own mini-python.

Fee: $5 per person for art supplies.
Writing Using Your Five Senses August 7
Our Heritage Farms writer's workshop encourages you to express yourself using your five senses. Each task will highlight and challenge one or more of the senses. Spend time at one of our creation stations located throughout the farm to journal or work on one of the tasks. At the end of each of the three session we will come together for discussion and sharing of writings. Please bring a lunch. Refreshments and dessert will be provided.
